Fablevision works throughout Scotland, and internationally, in the pursuit of arts and cultural development as a means of assisting the regeneration of disadvantaged communities and in developing the potential of members of these communities.

Fablevision's principle achievement is in assisting local communities to develop, manage and sustain arts and cultural programmes, and act as a catalyst for new arts projects which grassroots communities sustain and continue to operate independently. Fablevision recognises the role of the arts as a tool in addressing the problems which marginilisation and poverty of aspiration can bring, including unemployment, drug abuse, poverty and low self esteem. Fablevision's activities are participatory, and often issue based, and embrace: high profile civic and community events; implementing and staging visual arts, sculpture and music projects; theatre in education and issue based schools work; arts and cultural projects for special needs groups; training programmes for teachers, community education and social workers; developing links with overseas organisations as a way of creating networks between communities.
